Blessings and Text Study for Social Justcice

Before engaging in the holy act of tikkun olam, repair of the world, in deeds large and small, it is appropriate to say a blessing.

Baruch ata Adonai, Elohei-nu me-lech ha-olam, asher kid-shanu b’mitz-votav v’tzi-vanu leer-dof tzedek.

Praised are You, Adonai our God, Sovereign of the Universe, who commands us with the mitzvot and commnands us to pursue acts of tzedek/justice.
