Mount Zion Mitzvah Trip to Uganda

Benji, a youth volunteer from Minnesota, with Abayudaya children, 2011

Do your next great mitzvah in the African Diaspora! You are invited to join Cantor Rachel Stock Spilker and experienced guide Joanne Trangle of Kuchanga Travel in December 2012 to work with Uganda’s small but thriving indigenous Jewish community, the Abayudaya. We will be visiting their main village of Nabugoye, located in a beautiful, lush, mountainous area in eastern Uganda. We will be meeting and working alongside the community and celebrating a musical Shabbat with them. There will be safari options to follow our visit. This family-friendly trip is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Learn more about the 2012 Uganda Trip or fill out the Uganda Trip 2012 Application Form.

Joanne will be speaking at Mount Zion on Friday November 18, 7:30 p.m.  Read more>>
