Message from our Tzedek Committee
Our committee is in the middle of the Tzedek Summer 2020 and have held more than 50 conversations with members of Mount Zion. We are all enjoying the formation of new relationships and the strengthening of old relationships.
One of our biggest goals is to learn how members of the congregation feel about some of the many challenges facing our country including Covid-19, racial injustice, immigrant rights and climate change. It is our hope that many more members of Mount Zion will want to work together with community partners on some of the issues listed above in the future.
As part of the Tzedek Summer 2020, the goal of the Tzedek Committee is to make sure everyone in Mount Zion votes. This is so much at stake in this election and we want to make sure all of you have the upcoming schedule for registering to vote, submitting an application for an absentee ballot and for voting. You may apply for an absentee ballot now. Here is a local guide for how to vote absentee in this year’s elections. Questions? Go to MNVotes.org.
The schedule is below:
- September 18 – Vote by mail or in person in your county through November 2nd
- October 13 – Register in advance to vote to save time on election day
- November 3 – Election Day
We have a list of different ways to participate in voter engagement activities. If you are interested in learning how to participate, please email Vic Rosenthal, co-chair of the Tzedek Committee. If you are interested in being part of a conversation with a member of the Tzedek Committee as part of Tzedek Summer 2020, please email Vic.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Vic and Diana Dean, co-chairs of the Tzedek Committee
