Volunteer Knitters, Crocheters, and Weavers Needed

When visiting congregants who are not well, Mount Zion’s clergy often give healing shawls made by congregants. We need volunteers to make shawls.

Everyone is welcome to participate. No experience is necessary. Don’t know how to knit or crochet? That’s ok; we can show you how, online or in person. If you’ve been looking for a new hobby or way to relax, this is it. Studies have found that knitting and crocheting can lower heart rate, blood pressure, harmful blood levels of the stress hormone cortisol, and chronic pain, and can even protect against cognitive decline as we age. This is a great opportunity to combine something that is good for you with doing good for someone else. Already a dedicated knitter or crocheter? What can be better than letting passion meet purpose!

We will supply patterns and yarn suggestions. When needed, we’ll even supply yarn and needles.

Weavers: your contributions also are welcome!
