March Food Drive

Help support Mount Zion’s fundraising goal.

March Food Drive is an annual fundraising event that helps support Neighborhood House’s Food Support Program. Neighborhood House was founded by the Women of Mount Zion Temple in 1897 to assist Jewish immigrants with food, housing, clothing, and language needs, and general acculturation for living successfully in Minnesota.  It continues that effort today with various immigrant groups (from over 40 countries) that have arrived in Minnesota since then.

1 in 6 neighbors in Minnesota face food insecurity. Many children are not receiving the essential nutrition required for success and are going to bed hungry. The distressing truth is that an increasing number of Minnesotans now rely on food shelves.

In 2022, a staggering 5.5 million visits to food shelves marked a record-setting year. Fast forward to the close of 2023, and Minnesota witnessed over 7 million food shelf visits, shattering the previous record.

The gap between the escalating need and our limited budgets widens daily. On a regular basis, we find ourselves unable to stock our shelves adequately to meet the growing number of families seeking assistance.

Will you join in our efforts to help fight hunger and keep our neighbors in St. Paul fed?

If you would like to donate by check, please mail donations to Mount Zion Temple, 1300 Summit Ave, St. Paul, MN 55105 and indicate “March Food Drive” in the check memo.
