Sun April 16, 2023 at 5:00 pm

Guest Speaker: Ksenia Svetlova, Former Knesset Member, Executive Director, ROPES

at Mount Zion and via livestream

Ksenia Svetlova served as a Knesset member from 2015 to 2019 for the Hatnua faction of the Zionist Union. Svetlova, who speaks fluent Arabic, was previously a reporter on Arab Affairs for Israel’s Channel Nine, and her writing has appeared in Haaretz, the Jerusalem Post, Times of Israel, BBC Russian, Al Arabiya, and many other outlets. She has been a director of the Israel-Middle East program at the Mitvim Institute and a Fellow at both the Atlantic Council and the Institute for Policy and Strategy at Reichman University. Her book On High Heels Through the Middle East (Pardes) was published in 2021.

The Regional Organization for Peace, Economics & Security (ROPES) is a nonprofit organization that works to expand the coalition for Middle East peace by connecting forward-thinking Israeli and Palestinian emerging leaders with like-minded peers from across the Arab world. Through a series of successful people-to-people programs–including leadership summits in Paris and Vienna, a Dubai-based education program, and a delegation of Arab emerging leaders to Israel and the West Bank–ROPES has built a broad network of alumni from Israel, the Palestinian Territories, and nine Arab countries that includes members of parliament, diplomats, venture capitalists, prominent journalists, leading entrepreneurs, and other change-makers between the ages of 25 and 45.

Sponsored by Mount Zion, JCRC, and St. Paul Jewish Federation.
