Over the last 15 years Mount Zion has conducted a number of self-explorations: a strategic visioning process; annual Board identification of congregational priorities; cycles of Kivvunim; a full strategic planning process. Our 2019 Strategic Plan included plans to “explore creative models of thriving Reform congregations” as one part of a longer process that will, “help Mount Zion boldly situate itself to serve our community for generations to come.”
As the planning stages for this exploration begin, we will look back at ourselves, see how each of us defines just what it means to be Mount Zion community members, and hear from the Board Chair of the thriving Los Angeles Jewish community of Ikar.
Curious to know more? The February Kehillah Council continues an exploration that we began in August and continued in December, preparing for the upcoming journey, Kivvun La’Atid / The Direction of Our Future.
Participants can expect to learn about and reflect on past focus areas for Mount Zion, hear from and discuss the congregational experience of Ikar, and to engage in facilitated discussions. We hope you’ll join us!
