The Twin Cities Jewish Community has a chance to meet, via videoconference, Gidon Kremer, co-founder and Israeli Director of EcoPeace in the Middle East. Rep. Frank Hornstein (D-Minneapolis), a longtime supporter of EcoPeace, will join in conversation with Gidon, and field questions from the audience. U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips, Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Middle East, Northern Africa, and Central Asia Subcommittee, is among the invited guests.
EcoPeace in the Middle East is a non-governmental organization that was born in the optimism of the Oslo Accords in the mid-1990s, and features a one-of-a-kind organizational structure: Three Directors: an Israeli, A Palestinian and a Jordanian, leading a 12-member board, four representatives for each people. The organization works on the basis of environmental self-interest for all of the parties, so that everyone is highly motivated.
