Sunday, 4 July
9:30 AM – 11:00 AM
Hidden Falls Regional Park
1313 Hidden Falls Dr.
Saint Paul, MN 55116
What better way to start your 4th of July than with family and friends on a short bicycle ride? You may know of Hidden Falls Regional Park because Mount Zion has met there for many years for our tashlikh ceremony on Rosh Hashanah. But did you know that there is a lovely bicycle path that leads to Crosby Farm Regional Park? Paved with frequent views of both the Mississippi River and the river’s flood plain, this is an under-appreciated piece of nature in the St. Paul.
NOTE: Mississippi River Boulevard is closed north of the Hidden Falls Regional Park entrance. An alternative route is to use Cleveland (from either the north or south) and turn east (toward the river) on MacGoffin. Once MacGoffin connects with Mississippi River Boulevard, you can see the entrance to Hidden Falls Regional Park just to your right.
We will ride to Crosby Farm, turn around, and return to Hidden Falls. The total mileage is approximately six miles, but one could make it shorter (turn around sooner) or longer (just do the path again).
This ride is entirely on a bicycle path, and other than a very short section when the path merges onto a very lightly traveled street (no more than a 100 meters), there is no motorized traffic. This is an ideal ride for families with young ones!
