The Evening that Ushers in Genuine Reflection to Prepare for the Days of Awe
8:30 pm – Havdalah and Program
The program will be dramatic readings from The Mikveh Monologues by Anita Diamant & Janet Buchwald, performed by Mount Zion congregants. This show, a contemporary collection of inspiring monologues, was recently done by the MN Jewish Theater Company. After we hear some of the moving, first person narratives, we will look at texts of teshuvah/turning and discuss ways that ritual and this season help us in the most important times of our lives.
9:45 pm – Reception
10:15 pm – Selichot Service
Selichot literally means “Forgiveness.” We start the Days of Awe where we hope to end, with mercy and compassion towards ourselves and all people in our lives.
