Choir Concert featuring Mount Zion’s adult choir Kol Tzion, Twin Cities Jewish women’s a cappella group Shir Harmony, and The River Heights Chorale
“Let me whisper you a song, secretly. A song of love.”
That translation from Erev Shel Shoshanim sets the stage perfectly for Saturday’s concert. With tenderness and deep appreciation for their origins, the River Heights Chorale, joined by special guests Shir Harmony and Kol Tzion, Mount Zion’s adult choir, bring you words and music carefully woven around the theme of love. Featuring the stunningly beautiful Five Hebrew Love Songs by renowned contemporary composer Eric Whitacre, this concert presents pieces in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and English. They are inspired by many sources: the Torah, a 16th century poem to God, poems on a postcard and more.
Love inspires the best in us. It has no boundaries, does not discriminate, brings people and communities together and drives us to overcome the most difficult obstacles in life. Join us as we explore these Jewish songs of love.
A small reception will be held after the concert.
