In conjunction with the on-going work on reparations, Tzedek is sponsoring a book read of National Book award winner, All That She Carried, by Tiya Miles. The book is written by a historian and provides a detailed account of American slavery with a focus on the experiences of enslaved women and their children. It also affirms the power of family stories to both safeguard history and to help heal the wounds of trauma. The book is available at local libraries and booksellers. Some copies will also be available for lending at our MZ library. We will hold remote discussions of the book via zoom on Sunday, January 15 at 2 pm and Thursday, January 19 at 7 pm.
