Please join Shai Avny or Sue Summit’s virtual living room to connect to the stories and memories of the Holocaust for Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Memorial Day). Zikaron BaSalon, Hebrew for “remembrance in the living room,” is a social initiative that invites us to commemorate the Holocaust in an intimate way. Virtual salons will be hosted across the Twin Cities community and we would love for you to participate in our salons on April 5, at 7pm. We will hear from a speaker and engage in meaningful discussion together. There is an opportunity to share forms of expression, such as poetry or prayer. Please let one of us know if you’d like to share during the salon.
This initiative, which is supported by the JCRC and the Jewish Federations of Minneapolis & St. Paul, is offered alongside our community Yom HaShoah commemoration on Thursday, April 8. Zikaron BaSalon offers a new, meaningful, and intimate way to commemorate this day and address its implications through discussions at home among family, friends, and guests. It is a unique and authentic tradition of people gathering together to open their hearts to the stories of the survivors, sing, think, read, talk, and most importantly—listen.
