Ever contemplate attending Shabbat services at Mount Zion, but don’t have a Shabbat shutaf? You are not alone. What, you ask, is a shutaf? It’s Hebrew for partner or buddy. We would like to create a Mount Zion Small Group called Shabbat Shutafim (Shabbat Buddies). The idea behind this small group is to bring together congregants who don’t have someone to go with or meet up with for Friday night Shabbat services. This MZ Small Group will provide the opportunity for congregants to meet together as shutafim once a month to nosh and pray. If you have thought about attending Shabbat services but have been reluctant to do so due to not wanting to go alone, this group is for you.
We’ll be adding monthly dates. Please reach out to Nancy Flynn using the contact form if you would like to become a Shabbat Shutaf or find out more information.
