After the Tree of Life massacre, and so many attacks on those considered “the other”, there is area need to do something to prevent future attacks. As retired academic who spent 40 years teaching and researching communication, misunderstandings, prejudice and conflicts (my latest edited book dealt with ethnic conflicts in over 20 countries), I am hoping that our group will be able to assess what is being done, and work with other minority communities to combat prejudice, racism, xenophobia and hatred of “the other”.
Anyone with relevant experience and /or a willingness to work toward these goals is welcome. (With one exception: For health reasons, I cannot be in closed contact with people with contagious diseases. ) Because I have a disability and live in an accessible building with indoor parking, I propose that we meet at my building once every 6 weeks preferably from 3-5 pm.
