
Jennifer Strauss-Klein
Cantor
Cantor Jennifer Strauss-Klein has served as co-Cantor at Mount Zion Temple since 2009. Originally from La Crosse, Wisconsin, she received a Master’s degree in Sacred Music from the Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion’s School of Sacred Music in New York and Jerusalem and was ordained as a Cantor in May 2009. In 2001 she earned a Master of Music in Voice Performance from the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland; her Bachelor of Music in Voice Performance (1999) is from the University of Wisconsin in Madison. Before coming to serve at Mount Zion, she was the cantorial intern at Congregation Rodeph Sholom in Manhattan from 2005-2009, and also served as the student cantor for Port Jewish Center in Port Washington, NY from 2008-2009. She was the cantorial soloist for Baltimore Hebrew Congregation in Maryland from 2000-2004. She and her husband Nick have four children, Henry, Aryeh, Zelda, and Eve.
