Sue Summit
Religious School Director
Sue joined the Mount Zion staff in July of 2015. Sue has been involved in Jewish education for the past 19 years in a variety of roles including classroom teacher, family educator, curriculum developer, community-wide program facilitator and individual education specialist. Her most recent position was Director of Education at Temple Beth Am in Framingham, MA (2012-15). Prior to that Sue served as the Worcester Community Hebrew High School Director (2008-12) and the Temple Emanuel Religious School Director (2010-12) in Worcester, MA. Sue received a Certificate in Jewish Special Education from Hebrew College in Newton, MA (2015), studied Early Childhood Education at Becker College in Worcester, MA (2008-12), and received a B.S. in Technical Writing and Editing from Carnegie-Mellon University in Pittsburgh, PA (1985). She received the Grinspoon-Steinhart Award for Excellence in Jewish Education in 2009. Sue has an unwavering passion, enthusiasm and dedication to both formal and informal lifelong Jewish education.
